Good quality set of weights. I would definitely recommend these (or something similar). I say similar only because you can find the same set for a little bit less if you shop around for price. I found a similar set at a local Sports Authority for much cheaper after I already bought these. Just make sure you are comparing "apples to apples". Also, obviously not cheap to ship back so make sure these are the ones for you before clicking "complete order".

This is not the most beautiful looking set of plates, but if that's what you are looking for I doubt you are very interested in lifting. The fit on the bar perfectly. The collars fit to do their job and the bar end do swivel. The bar does have center knurling. I didn't see that listed in any of the reviews or in the description so I thought I'd add that because I was wondering about it before purchasing. These do the job.

The plates aren't matched in weight. My 45's weigh 44.2 and 46.4. That's a decent difference. I will probably end up grinding some off of the heavier plate. Or just run a 2.5 on the lighter side.

This weight set takes my abuse 4-5 times a week almost every week. And, they still look like new. I use them for all my strength training workouts (i.e. chest, back, shoulders, arms, legs) now which really helps my endurance running! Also, they should work fine if you just wanted to get bigger muscles - depends on your workout regiment so do your homework! I recommend them to everyone!!! But, please consult your doctor before engaging in any new rigorous activity such as this to get medical clearance so you don't injure yourself....sorry, always wanted to say that....
